Merry Friday

Friday, January 29, 2016

This Merry Friday isn't going to share as much as I normally do but, ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS IS GETTING MARRIED. She got the ring. I'm the wedding planner. Her theme is "one for the books" so look forward to wedding posts.

i'm not big into politics, but if you've seen the Tina Fey's most recent Sarah Palin skit, this video mashes Sarah Palin and Tina Fey together. honestly, it should make you laugh no matter who you're voting for.

am very much digging this diy jewelry storage mirror by a beautiful mess. definitely going to have to make it for myself.

this diy textured bowl is so cute and super inventive.

I was a crafty superstar on cut out + keep this week, and it was super exciting for me.

Homemade Burning Face Mask

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

On my 2016 ambitions list, I mentioned washing my face twice a day. In the morning I wash my face with a face wash, and at night I wash it with a bar soap. At least once a week I apply a burning face mask for thirty minutes and it is amazing. It evens my skin tone and lightens my acne scars. It does burn at a little first [not in a bad way], but it's totally worth it.

ingredients

1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

mix all of your ingredients and massage the mask onto your face. leave the mask on for thirty minutes, then rinse off with water. moisturize (i use lotion).

Peanut Butter Brownie Truffle Recipe

Monday, January 25, 2016

The first time I made these brownie truffles was for a bake sale, and they were AMAZING. they sold quickly and they taste delicious. I can only eat like half of one piece at a time [I can manage a to eat a whole truffle if I have a glass of milk] because they're so rich. an extra bonus is that they're ridiculously easy to make.

 I N G R E D I E N T S

1 box of brownie mix
2/3 cups of sugar
1 cup of flour
2 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 tablespoons of peanut butter

Merry Friday

Friday, January 22, 2016

Sometimes life is mean. Yesterday was one of those days. I have no doubt that today will be better. The Lord is faithful and everything is going to be okay. I hope we all have a super merry Friday because I super duper need it and I want you all to be merry, too.

It's never too late to get a planner, and almost makes perfect has this super awesome diy planner on her blog.

This free game is pretty addicting and fun for all you android people.

I really want these shoes. they would be so easy to clean and I could keep them foreva.

Everyone I know is getting married so these diy pot holders will probably be in a lot of their wedding gifts.

These stainless steel gold pots are beautiful. and super expensive.

Basically what happened to Elisha, Elijah, and Ezra is exactly what happened in this video.

My backpack doesn't have a bottle holder and it makes juggling my coat or umbrella and my water bottle or my travel mug that much harder. I really like cute water bottles so I decided to make a way for it to be easier to take to class.

9 Shows to Binge Watch

9 Shows to Binge Watch

On the 19 things to do by yourself list from my 2016 bucket list, it says "binge on a tv show." Well, I've done that. many, many times. so I made a list of my favorite shows! Take a look.

THE OFFICE
I know the office doesn't make sense if you just randomly start watching in the middle of the season, so if you tried and didn't like it try again. Start from the beginning; it's amazing.

PARKS AND RECREATION
I also love Parks and Rec. It's mockumentary style like the office and it's pretty great. It starts getting SUPER good at season 2. The last season was a major disappointment, but it still had a few good episodes.

SCRUBS
This is the show that I'm currently binge watching. My best friend recommend it and I thought I would end up hating it, but I actually really like it!

FRIENDS
I also thought that I would end up hating friends, but I absolutely loved it.  I don't know why no one cared enough to share this with me until it came out on Netflix.

ONCE UPON A TIME
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHOW. The first season is probably my favorite. Just pretend the Frozen season doesn't exist. It's so bad.

HEROES
Watch the first season, clap, and then never watch another season. (but the first season is really really good.)

COMMUNITY
I LOVE COMMUNITY. So much. I haven't even gotten to finish it because I can't find the rest of the seasons. Ten out of ten; highly recommend.

FIREFLY
This show is so underrated. AND THEY HAD THE NERVE TO CANCEL IT. Thankfully they offered closure and made a movie to wrap it up. thank goodness.

LIE TO ME
ANOTHER fantastic show that got cancelled. and the ended it at the worst possible spot. Unlike firefly, they give you absolutely no closure. Oh my goodness, it is a fantastic show, though.

Merry Friday

Friday, January 15, 2016

Well, school started back this week, and my classes seem mostly okay. After I get into the swing of being back, I'm going to hit the rec center and start exercising; but until then I will enjoy my free time with Netflix.

Looks like I need to buy more cake so I can do this with my leftover cake so I can enjoy a lot of cake. Cake.

This diy backdrop is made out of straws and I think that that is pretty stinkin' awesome.

I'm currently loving disco balls, and this disco ball planter is pretty fab.

I relate to numbers 1, 7, 8, 12, 16, and 19 on this women's problems list so very much.

I always thought working at Disney would be a dream, but this super funny video shares an ex-worker's struggles.

I desperately need this trash can in my life.

This diy pom pom bunting is adorable and I wanna make it.

7 Modern Water Bottles to Buy

Monday, January 11, 2016

Remember here where I vowed to drink at least one bottle of water every day? Well, I'm doing it! [my bladder is having a hard time adjusting.] I decided to make a round up to encourage you all to drink more water and to buy a reusable water bottle instead of the packaged plastic kind. My bottle is #7 and I love it! It's nice to have a straw, and when it's closed, it doesn't leak a drop. Which is your favorite?

01 / 02 / 03 / 04 / 05 / 06 / 07

[if the bottle is  sold out or you want other colors, try these:  01 , 02 , 03 , 05, and 06,]

Merry Friday

Friday, January 8, 2016

School starts back again Monday, and I'm really not looking forward to it. I don't think I'm supposed to have senioritis in my sophomore year. I mean, I can understand having it early on in high school, but college was supposed to be THE dream. I don't wanna go back. Anyways, I hope you guys are doing well on your new resolutions. See you Monday.

I think we should cut Steve Harvey some slack and I know this was a million weeks ago, but this picture still makes me laugh.

Really wish I had made this diy jewelry roll before I came home for Christmas.

These diy ombre soaps make me want to give soap making a try.

REALLY, REALLY want this modern speaker. Please lower the price.

I'm going to have a donut party just so I can make this awesome donut twister.

This diy lavendar candle looks like it smells amazing and comes with a real pretty label.

DIY Popsicle Stick Soap Dish

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

My soap is always getting stuck to the sink. It's annoying, it looks bad, and it wastes my precious soap. Thus, I decided to make my own soap dish that looks good and drains water well. Honestly, I mostly made it because I think constantly leaving my soap out was secretly annoying my roommate.

New Year / New Changes

Monday, January 4, 2016

Over the past two weeks, I finally buckled down and I got crap done. Exciting, I know. There are some subtle changes and maybe not so subtle changes and new content and good things. Look at the picture. I branded the blog [inspiration]. Go, Timia.

CHANGES

I got all serious and bought a domain. this blog is now "www.exodustreasures.com"! wahoo. tell your friends.

Different categories of posts are coming. There is the ambitions category that I discuss here; and on January 8, I will start Merry Fridays! On Merry Fridays, I'll just share with you different interesting posts that I've seen throughout the week and maybe other things. One of my best friends is expecting to be engaged pretty soon and she wants me to help plan her wedding, so look forward to posts related to that.

I added Facebook and Twitter to exodus treasures's social media. I'm pretty intimidated by this. [also some guy took "exodustreasures" from me on twitter so I have to use "@xodustreasures." I'm trying not be bitter about this.]

I changed the comments to Disqus. It honestly pained me how easy that change was. It took like two seconds and it is sooo much better.

THINGS THAT ARE STILL THE SAME

I don't have a camera. I'm working on it.

if you have any changes that you'd like to see, just comment below  [with Disqus because I have it now] or use the contact page!
